Our new curriculum
We approached the introduction of the new National Curriculum in September 2014 as an opportunity to develop the curriculum to suit the needs of our pupils. There are huge changes which will involve a lot of extra planning and preparation to compile our new curriculum, which of course will be individual to our ‘Outstanding’ School. Staff have received training on the new ICT Curriculum – in particular the elements of computer science, such as programming, debugging, logical sequencing and algorithms.
Reading Schemes that are used at Thomas Reade from Foundation to Year 6 are as follows:
Oxford Reading Tree
In Key Stage 1 children also take the Phonics Reading Test and the SATs in Numeracy, Reading, Comprehension, Writing and Spelling
